Juan Dominguez is Pomo from the Manchester Point Arena Reservation. Growing up on the rez, Juan witnessed first-hand the impacts of colonial violence in his community.  After getting sober in 2020, he decided to create Burn the Wagon as a way to amplify Indigenous voices and metaphorically burn the wagons that are capitalism, patriarchy and colonialism. 

 

Juan is heavily involved in his community, working with the youth in social emotional learning and suicide prevention, as well as coaching basketball. He is passionate about cultural dance and enjoys spending time with his five cats Copal, Ash, Sage, Smudge and Smokey.
